[origin: WO2021105118A1] An expansion joint bridging device (1) in the form of a plate-type roadway joint (2) which bridges an expansion joint (5) between two building components (3, 4). The expansion joint (5) is spanned by crossbeams (6) which are load-bearingly supported on both building components (3, 4). Supported on the crossbeams (6) is at least one plate (7) disposed above the crossbeams (6), said plate (7) comprising two plate portions (7.1, 7.2) which lie flush with one another and are force-transmittingly interconnected. The plate portions (7.1, 7.2) are connected in situ by means of at least one cover plate (10) which bridges the joint (9) between the plate portions (7.1, 7.2) and force-transmittingly connects the two plate portions (7.1, 7.2). At least one of the connections between the cover plate (10) and the plate portions (7.1, 7.2) is hinged, having a rotational degree of freedom about an axis extending horizontally transversely to the orientation of the relevant plate (7).
