[origin: WO2021105618A1] Method for locating a transmitting device belonging to an ambient backscatter system comprising a source and a receiving device, and further comprising a surface capable of reflecting signals to the receiving device. The method comprises the steps of: • determining (E30) a difference, referred to as the "measured difference", between measurements of a power received by the receiving device when the transmitting device is in a backscattering state and in a non-backscattering state, • determining (E40) at least one position, referred to as the "candidate position", of the transmitting device for which a function which evaluates the difference in power received by the receiving device in the backscattering state compared to the non-backscattering state, is equal to the measured difference, • determining (E50) a position, referred to as the "final position", according to the at least one candidate position.
