[origin: WO2021151612A1] A method for checking a signal connection (2) between a central unit (3) and modules (4), which are each assigned to a slot (5), is specified, having the steps of: - providing first relationships (11) between in each case a module (4) and an address of the slot (4) which is to be assigned to the module (4), - transmitting the first relationships (11) to the central unit (3), - determining second relationships (12) between in each case a module (4) and the address of the slot (5) which is assigned to the module (4), - transmitting the second relationship (12) between the module (4) and the address of the slot (5) assigned to the module (4) to the module (4), - comparing the first relationships (11) and the second relationships (12), and - generating an error signal on the basis of the comparison. An apparatus, a rail vehicle, a computer program and a computer-readable storage medium are also specified.
