An electric resistance welded steel pipe for a linepipe comprising a base metal portion and an electric resistance welded portion, wherein a chemical composition of the base metal portion includes, in terms of % by mass, 0.030 to 0.090% of C, 0.01 to 0.50% of Si, 0.50 to 1.50% of Mn, 0.005 to 0.060% of Nb, 0.005 to 0.030% of Ti, 0.0001 to 0.0040% of Ca, 0.0010 to 0.0080% of N, and a balance of Fe and impurities, ΔYS, which is a value obtained by subtracting a yield strength of the electric resistance welded portion from a yield strength of the base metal portion, is from 0 to 80 MPa, and AHv, which is a value obtained by subtracting a Vickers hardness of an inner surface layer of the electric resistance welded portion from a Vickers hardness of an outer surface layer of the electric resistance welded portion, is from 0 to 25 Hv.
