[origin: WO2022129177A1] The present invention relates to a baling press (1) with a press housing (3) surrounding a press chamber (2) and with a press plate (4) which is movable in the press housing (3) and can be driven by hydraulic cylinders (5, 6, 7, 8) which are arranged in pairs on two mutually opposite sides outside the press chamber (2). The baling press (1) according to the invention is characterized in that a hydraulic control device (12) is provided, by means of which the hydraulic cylinders (5, 6, 7, 8) of each cylinder pair can be actuated either selectively individually or jointly depending on the compressive pressure. The invention further relates to a method for operating the baling press (1).
