[origin: WO2021122583A1] The invention relates to an aerosol-forming substrate comprising the following components: a) one or both of cellulose and cellulose derivatives, b) an aerosol-former, c) from 0 weight percent to 5 weight percent, preferably from 0 weight percent to 3 weight percent, more preferred from 0 weight percent to 1 weight percent, most preferred from 0 weight percent to 0.5 weight percent of tobacco on a dry weight basis based on the total amount of the aerosol-forming substrate, and d) a nitrogen-containing nucleophilic compound.
