[origin: WO2021122731A1] The invention relates to a contamination protection (10) for the edges of riblet films (2) which are adhered to a surface (1) and have riblets (4) formed on the top side (3') of a film layer (3) and an adhesive layer on the bottom side. The contamination protection (10) comprises an edge protection (11, 12) which is formed directly on a riblet film (2) adhered to a surface (1) such that the edge protection (11, 12) covers the adhesive layer (5) of the riblet film (2) but does not protrude beyond the top side (3') of the riblet film (2).
