[origin: WO2021121789A1] A clothing, in particular a seam felt for use in a pressing section of a machine for producing a fibrous web, wherein the clothing (1) has at least one base structure and at least one staple fibre layer which is arranged on the base structure, which at least one staple fibre layer is arranged on a side which faces the fibrous web and/or on a side which faces the machine, wherein the clothing has at least one seam zone, in which seam loops are connected to one another by way of at least one seam wire in order to make the clothing endless, and wherein the at least one staple fibre layer is divided in the region of the seam zone by way of at least one cut with the configuration of a seam flap and a seam gusset, wherein at least one connecting element (20) is inserted between the seam flap and the seam gusset, wherein the at least one connecting element is connected in an integrally joined manner, in particular is welded, to staple fibres of the seam flap and/or of the seam gusset. A method for using a clothing of this type.
