[origin: WO2021190873A1] A sensor monitoring system (R, F1, F2, 4) for monitoring a sensor function in an at least partly autonomously controlled transport system (10, 20, 30, 40, 70) is described. The sensor monitoring system (R, F1, F2, 4) comprises a sensor unit (R) for emitting and receiving a sensor signal (RSS), a reflector (F1, F2) capable of being switched on and off in a predetermined time sequence for generating a check signal by modulation of the sensor signal emitted by the sensor unit (R), and a checking unit (4) for determining whether a sensor function is correct, on the basis of a comparison of the received check signal with a reference signal. An autonomous transport system (10, 20, 30, 40, 70) is also described. A sensor monitoring method is additionally described.
