[origin: WO2021122337A1] The invention relates to a method for recognising removal of a sensor data domain from a reference data domain, in which method detected sensor data (10) are received from at least one sensor (51), and by means of a distance measurement in each case distances (11) between parts (23) of the received sensor data (10) and sensor data patches (60), which are used for item by item replacement by means of quilting of the sensor data (10) and belong to the reference sensor domain, are determined or such distances (11) are obtained, a removal signal (21) being generated and provided depending on the determined distances (11). The invention further relates to a device (1) for recognising removal of a sensor data domain from a reference data domain, to a motor vehicle (50) having at least one such device (1), to a computer program and to a data carrier signal.
