Abstract (en)
A multi-drum unit for processing rod-shaped articles for the tobacco industry, comprises a succession of drums for transversely feeding a succession of rod-shaped articles (S) of the tobacco industry, wherein said succession of drums comprises at least a first drum (2) defining an infeed drum, a second drum (3) and a third drum (4) defining an outfeed drum, the second drum (3) being operatively located in such a way as to define a first tangential zone (T1) with the first drum (2) and a second tangential zone (T2) with the third drum (4) to receive the articles (S) from the first drum (2) and to release the articles (S) to the third drum (4). The second drum (3) can be moved between an operating position, where it is tangential to the first and to the third drum (2, 4), and a cleaning position where it is spaced from the first and/or from the third drum (2, 4) to define an area for cleaning one of said tangential zones (T1, T2).
