[origin: WO2021148745A1] The invention relates to a piece of luggage comprising an extendable and retractable handle mechanism having a handle shaft (45) to which a handle grip portion (21) is secured, a profile translatably mounted relative to a fixed sheath, a locking/unlocking system that is secured to said profile and is at least partially accommodated in said sheath, an interface system configured to be actuated by the handle shaft and to actuate the locking/unlocking system, and a support piece (70) that forms a housing for a portion of the handle shaft and for the interface system and is provided with a wall (81) forming both a guide and a rotation stop for the interface system and for the handle shaft between a first position of the grip portion and the handle shaft in which the locking/unlocking system locks the handle in the selected position, and a second position of the grip portion and the handle shaft which is obtained by rotating the grip portion and in which the locking/unlocking system unlocks the handle.
