[origin: WO2022152346A1] The invention relates to a piston (1) for a tap for drawing a beverage out of a container, preferably for drawing beer out of a keg, more preferably for drawing beer out of a 5L party keg. The piston (1) comprises an inner flow channel (4), an inlet opening (2), and an outlet opening (3), wherein the inner flow channel (4) is formed in the piston (1) and is designed to conduct the beverage from the inlet opening (3) to the outlet opening (4), and the piston (1) has a plurality of webs (8, 8', 9) on the exterior. At least one of the plurality of webs (8, 8') is designed as a stepped web (9), wherein the at least one stepped web (9) has a plurality of first regions (10) and at least one second region (11) arranged between adjacent first regions (10), and the plurality of first regions (10) is designed such that when the piston (1) is arranged in a piston chamber (14), the plurality of first regions contact a wall (15) of the piston chamber (14). The at least one second region (11) is designed to be recessed relative to the plurality of first regions (10).
