[origin: CA3165704A1] The invention relates to a parking facility for motor vehicles (14), comprising a parking rack (12) having two or more parking grids (22) arranged side by side and a plurality of parking levels (26) arranged one above the other, whereinthe parking levels (26) comprise an uppermost parking level (28), a lowermost parking level (30) and at least one intermediate level (32) interposed therebetween and wherein at least one parking level (26, 28, 30) is connected or connectable to an entrance (34), wherein the parking rack (12) defines parking spaces (36) for the motor vehicles (14) at intersections of the parking grids (22) with the parking levels (26, 28, 30) and wherein the parking rack(12) has at least one empty space (50) in the at least one intermediate level (32). Receiving devices (38) for the motor vehicles (14) are provided and at least one displacement device (54) operative at a respective parking space(36) for displacing the receiving devices (38) in a respective parking level (26, 28, 30) as well as at least one lifting device (72) having lifting elements (88), wherein at least one lifting element (88) is arranged at each parking grid (22), which lifting element (88) is selectively coupleable to one of the receiving devices (38) for the vertical transport thereof within the parking grid (22). The receiving devices (38) can each assume a transport position and at least one pass position.
