[origin: WO2021160695A1] The invention relates to a method for monitoring an object (20) located in the environment of an aircraft (10) on the ground (2), comprising the following steps: transmitting a communication signal between a communications unit arranged on the object (20), in particular a land vehicle, and at least one communications unit spatially associated with the aircraft (10) on the ground (2); and determining spatial position information of the object (20) based on the transmitted communication signal. The invention also relates to a device comprising an interface, which is designed to read in data based on the communication signal transmitted between the communications units, and a determining unit which is designed to determine spatial position information of the object (20) based on the read-in data.
