Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2021165719A1] A machine (1) for cutting sheet material is herein described, the machine comprising a worktable (2) adapted to provide a support plane for a sheet of material to be cut, at least one cutting unit (3) adapted to cut the sheet arranged on the worktable (2), at least one arm (4) that is arranged at least partially above the worktable (2) and is adapted to support the cutting unit (3), support means (9) of the arm (4), which is supported so as to be movable along a sliding direction (X), and at least one protective screen (18) supported by a support structure, said protective screen (18) being adapted to translate in the sliding direction (X) due to the movement of the arm (4). Suitably, the protective screen (18) is hinged to the support structure at a hinging point (P) so as to be tilting with respect to the support structure, the protective screen (18) being adapted to perform an at least partial rotation with respect to the hinging point (P) when it hits an obstacle along said sliding direction (X).
