In order to provide a mechanism which is particularly simple in structure, it is proposed that the position of a rear spring end (27) of a spring element (30) acting between the backrest carrier (4) and a base carrier (1) of the mechanism (100) is variably implemented, and that when the backrest carrier (4) is pivoted rearward in the seat longitudinal direction (14), the rear spring end (27) of the spring element (30) is displaced in the seat longitudinal direction (14). The rear spring end (27) can be actuated by a coupling element (27) hinged to the backrest carrier (4) in such a way that the rear spring end is pulled forward in the longitudinal direction (14) of the seat.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Mechanik (100) für einen Stuhl, insbesondere für einen Bürostuhl. Um eine konstruktiv besonders einfach aufgebaute Mechanik bereitzustellen, wird vorgeschlagen, das hintere Federende (27) eines zwischen Rückenlehnenträger (4) und Basisträger (1) der Mechanik (100) wirkenden Federelements (30) ortsveränderlich auszuführen und bei einem Verschwenken des Rückenlehnenträgers (4) in Stuhllängsrichtung (14) nach hinten das hintere Federende (27) derart von einem an dem Rückenlehnenträger (4) angelenkten Koppelelement (27) anzusteuern, daß es in Stuhllängsrichtung (14) nach vorn gezogen wird.
