[origin: WO2023280347A1] The invention relates to a sorting arrangement for sorting objects, in particular items of mail, of different shapes, volumes and/or weights, wherein the sorting arrangement has a flat sorter (1) having a multiplicity of load receptacles (2) for objects to be sorted, which are moved along a sorting section (3) of the flat sorter (1) and are individually controllable for discharging a supported object into at least one first terminal (4) of the sorting arrangement, wherein the sorting arrangement has a pocket sorter (5) having a multiplicity of load receptacles (2) in the form of hanging pockets (2.1) for objects to be sorted, characterized in that the pocket sorter (5) has a pocket emptying means (6) by which the pockets (2.1) are emptied into at least one second terminal (4) different from the first terminal (4), wherein these two terminals (4) are assigned the same sorting aim. A corresponding method is also described.
