A handling and installation assembly (10) for a roof window comprising a frame (3), a sash (2) and a sash hinge part (20) of a hinge (5). The assembly (10) is releasably connectable to the hinge. The assembly (10) comprises a first element (11) and a second element (12) connectable to the first element (11). The first element (11) and the second element (12) are engageable with each other in a first orientation to temporarily lock the sash hinge part (20) in the first orientation, and the first element (11) and the second element (12) are engageable with each other in a second orientation to temporarily lock the sash hinge part (20) in the second orientation.
