Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (1) zur Ausgabe von adhäsionserhöhendem Mittel zur Verwendung an einem Schienenfahrzeug (S) und ein entsprechendes Verfahren. Unabhängig von Zustandsgrößen des Schienenfahrzeugs (S) oder der Schiene (G) wird zur Verbesserung des Kraftschlusses zwischen Rad (R1) und Schiene (G) ein Inshot von adhäsionserhöhendem Mittel ausgegeben, welcher eine definierte, ungeregelte Menge an adhäsionserhöhendem Mittel ausgibt. So kann gerade zu Beginn einer Bremsung eine definierte und ungeregelte Menge an adhäsionserhöhendem Mittel ausgegeben werden, was einen Bremsweg minimiert.
