Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2021186043A1] In order to protect an inverter (1) from assuming a prohibited switch state, a monitoring unit (4) with monitoring inputs (40) and monitoring outputs (41) is provided. The monitoring inputs (40) are connected to control outputs (51) in order to receive a switch pattern (SM), and the monitoring outputs (41) are connected to power switches (S1+, S2+, S1-, S2-). The monitoring unit (4) is designed to compare the transition from a first switch pattern (SM) to a second switch pattern (SM) with a number of prohibited transitions and/or with a number of permitted transitions and block the second switch pattern (SM) in the event of a match with one of the prohibited transitions and/or in the event of a deviation from the number of permitted transitions and to output the second switch pattern (SM) to the power switches (S1+, S2+, S1-, S2-) via the monitoring outputs (41) in the event of a deviation from the number of prohibited transitions and/or in the event of a match with one of the permitted transitions.
