[origin: CA3171402A1] The invention relates to a centrifuge which has a rotatable rotor (1) and an assembly (2) which is stationary during operation, the rotatable rotor (1) being rotatably mounted in or on the stationary assembly (2) by means of one or more mounting devices (3), and the rotatable rotor (1) having a rotatable drum (10) and a drive element for rotating the drum (10) as well as one or more electrical loads (50) located on or in the rotor (1). The centrifuge is characterised in that at least one battery (51) is also located on or in the rotor (10) in order to supply the at least one load or the plurality of loads (50) with electrical power. The load (50) can comprise a data memory (506) in the rotor or on the rotor, wherein at least one actuator (502) is provided as the at least one load (50).
