[origin: WO2021197881A1] The invention relates to a plug connector (1) for plugging to a mating plug connector (60) along a plug-in direction (Z), said plug connector (1) having: -- a plug connector housing (2) which is designed to receive at least one contact element (3); -- a lever assembly (4) which can be pivoted between a first position (P1) and a second position (P2), -- a cover (5); and – a CPA (20) with at least one blocking element (22). The lever assembly (5) is releasably latched to a latching structure (6) in the second position (P2), and the CPA (20) is arranged on the cover (5) and can be moved along a movement direction (V) between an unlocking position (EL) and a locking position (SL), said CPA (20) having a locking element (21) which, in the locking position (SL) of the CPA (20), prevents a movement of the latching structure (6) for releasing the latched connection between the lever assembly (4) and the latching structure (6). The blocking element (22) and the cover (5) are designed to cooperate with each other such that a movement of the CPA (20) from the unlocking position (EL) into the locking position (SL) is based on the position of the lever assembly (4), wherein the CPA (20) cannot be moved from the unlocking position (EL) into the locking position (SL) in the first position (P1) of the lever assembly (4), and the lever assembly (4) has an unlocking element (7), said unlocking element (7) moving the blocking element (22) in the second position (P2) of the lever assembly (4) such that the CPA (20) can be moved into the locking position (SL).
