Becher aus Papier oder papierähnlichem Material mit einem befüllbaren Innenraum, der durch einen Mantel und einen Boden gebildet ist, wobei der Boden am unteren Ende des Innenraums mittels einer Zarge im Wesentlichen flüssigkeitsdicht am Mantel befestigt ist, wobei ein unterer Rand der Zarge eine Standfläche für den Becher bildet, wobei der Becher einen Außenmantel aufweist, wobei der Außenmantel aus einem flächigen Zuschnitt aus Papier oder papierähnlichem Material besteht, dessen Längskanten in einem Überlappungsbereich wenigstens abschnittsweise miteinander verbunden sind, so dass der Außenmantel eine Hülse bildet, wobei der Außenmantel wenigstens bis zu einem vordefinierten Abstand vor seinem unteren Ende eine kegelstumpfartige Form mit einem ersten Kegelwinkel aufweist und wenigstens von dem vordefinierten Abstand bis zu dem unteren Ende mit Ausnahme des Überlappungsbereichs einlagig ausgebildet ist, bei dem der Mantel sich in dem unteren Bereich von dem vordefinierten Abstand bis zum unteren Ende wenigstens abschnittsweise stärker verjüngt als im Bereich oberhalb des vordefinierten Abstands.
