Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2021207181A1] A method of performing a therapy on a prostate of a patient via transperineal access. The therapy uses an ultrasound probe. The method includes positioning a pair of stabilization members of a needle guide adjacent the perineum. The pair of stabilization members spaced apart from each other and supporting a platform configured to slide along a portion of a length of the pair of stabilization members. The needle guide is coupled to the ultrasound probe. The method further includes coupling an access needle to the platform, and sliding the platform and the access needle relative to the pair of stabilization members and the ultrasound probe so the access needle extends into the perineum. And the method further includes, using the access needle as a conduit, injecting a radiation blocking substance between the rectum and the prostate.
