[origin: WO2021204417A1] The clamping device for workpieces (1) made of wood, plastic, aluminum, and the like has at least one lower and at least one upper clamping jaw (12, 13) as well as at least one drive (14) for adjusting the upper and/or lower clamping jaw (12, 13) in the clamping direction (z-direction) and for producing a clamping force acting on the workpieces (1). At least two drives (14) are provided for the upper and/or lower clamping jaw (12, 13), said drives generating respective individual clamping forces independently of each other. Elongated workpieces (1) can thereby be securely clamped using a simple and inexpensive design.
