[origin: WO2021209201A1] The present invention relates to a projection assembly for a head-up display (HUD), at least comprising: - a composite pane (10), comprising an outer pane (1) and an inner pane (2), which are joined to each other by means of a thermoplastic intermediate layer (3), the composite pane having an HUD region (B); - an HUD reflection layer, which is suitable for reflecting p-polarized radiation, on the surface (II, III) of the outer pane (1) or of the inner pane (2) that faces the intermediate layer (3) or within the intermediate layer (3); - an HUD projector (4), which is directed at the HUD region (B) and emits p-polarized radiation; and - a high-refractive-index coating (30) having a refractive index of at least 1.7 on the surface (IV) of the inner pane (2) that faces away from the intermediate layer (3). The high-refractive-index coating (30) is a sol-gel coating.
