[origin: WO2021213998A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a controller assembly (31) with at least one controller (3) for a motor vehicle (32). The controller assembly (31) has a central computing device (35), and n-dimensional reference input vectors (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24), to which a respective reference output vector is assigned, are stored on the at least one controller (3). An output vector (12) is ascertained from the reference input vectors (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) at least in response to an n-dimensional input vector (4), and if a new reference input vector with a corresponding new reference output vector is provided, an individual error is calculated which can be achieved using the new reference input vector. One of the following steps is carried out on the basis of the individual error: adding the new reference input vector to the reference input vectors (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24), replacing one of the reference input vectors (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) with the new reference input vector, and rejecting the new reference input vector. The reference input vectors (17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24) are then transmitted to the central computing device (35), optimized at the central computing device, and subsequently transmitted to the at least one controller (3).
