[origin: WO2021214325A1] The invention relates to a copy protection method for an electronic system comprising at least one electronic unit and comprising at least one component which interacts with the electronic unit, in which method at least one public-key infrastructure having at least one certification authority is used, wherein, by means of the certification authority, at least a first certificate is issued for the electronic unit on the basis of an identification feature of the electronic unit, and at least a second certificate is issued for the at least one component on the basis of an identification feature of the at least one component, and wherein, to verify authenticity of at least the at least one component by the electronic unit, the respectively associated certificates are verified at least alternately. According to the invention, at least the first certificate is prefabricated and, when manufacturing the electronic unit and/or when configuring the electronic unit, is installed on the electronic unit, and/or at least the second certificate is prefabricated and, when manufacturing the at least one component and/or when configuring the at least one component, is installed on the at least one component.
