The invention relates to an aerosol-generating article that comprises a rod (12) of aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-generating article further comprises a ventilation zone (60) arranged downstream the rod of aerosol-forming substrate. The ventilation zone comprises between 10 and 12 perforations (62). The invention further relates to an aerosol-generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device having a cavity for receiving an aerosol-generating article.
