[origin: WO2021219776A1] The invention relates to a method for working up waste paper, comprising at least one first flotation step for removing printing inks from a waste paper material suspension. When detached, lye-soaked wet labels are used, according to the invention, the pH value of the waste paper material suspension is adjusted to a value preferably between 8.4 and 8.6 by adding an acidifying agent in a method step preceding the at least one first flotation step. This prevents the formation of foam in the at least one first flotation step.
