[origin: WO2021224160A1] The present invention relates to a light modulation device (1) of an elevator installation (2) having an elevator cabin (3), and to a light modulation method in an elevator installation (2). The light modulation device (1) has a modulator (5), which can receive a first electrical signal (16) from a control unit (6) of the elevator installation (1), and wherein the modulator (5), for modulating the first electrical signal (16), can control a lighting device (4) comprising two or more light-emitting diodes (7) in the elevator cabin (3) in such a way that the lighting device (4) generates a first light signal (14) for encoding the first electrical signal (16), and wherein the modulator (5) can switch the light-emitting diodes (7) on and off and/or can set the brightness thereof, and wherein the modulator (5) can switch the light-emitting diodes (7) synchronously or asynchronously and/or can set the brightness thereof.
