[origin: WO2021224238A1] Method for controlling an energy storage system (10) comprising batteries (11, 12) between an energy source (2) and an energy-consuming load (5), said method comprising the following steps: the energy storage system is controlled so as to use, at any given time, distinct batteries for, on the one hand, charging from the source and, on the other hand, discharging in the direction of the consuming load; the energy storage system is controlled so as to trigger discharging of any one battery only if the current charge of said battery has reached a maximum state of charge; the energy storage system is controlled so as to trigger charging of any one of the batteries only if the current charge of said battery has dropped to a minimum state of charge.
