Die Erfindung betrifft eine Rührwerksmühle (1) mit einem Mahlkörper beinhaltenden Mahlraum (7) und einer darin um eine horizontale Achse umlaufenden Rührwelle (3), die mehrere drehfest mit ihr verbundene, voneinander in Richtung der horizontalen Achse voneinander beabstandete Mahlscheiben (8) trägt, die die Mahlkörper bewegen, wobei Mahlscheiben (8) bevorzugt jeweils Schlitze oder Durchbrüche aufweisen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass benachbarte Mahlscheiben (8) so auf der Rührwelle (3) angeordnet sind, dass das Verhältnis von der Mahlkammerlänge (b) zur radialen Mahlkammerhöhe (a) größer oder gleich 2:3 ist und dass der radiale Abstand (c) zwischen der Außenmantelfläche der Mahlscheiben (8) und der Innenwand des den Mahlraum (7) begrenzenden Mahlbehälters (2) mehr als 20% der radialen Mahlkammerhöhe (a) beträgt.
