[origin: CA3178638A1] The present invention relates to a rack-and-pinion lift assembly comprising a mast (2) and a lift. The lift assembly (100) is designed to enable reverse, self-contained assembly of the mast on a shaft and/or a gallery during excavation processes. The lift assembly descends along a suspended mast to a lower end (21) of the mast to convey mast sections to be assembled below the mast. The mast sections to be assembled are positioned to be individually spliced by means of a movable plate (120) of the lift assembly. The invention also relates to a method for reverse assembling, docking and dismantling the lift assembly.
