[origin: WO2021228499A1] The invention relates to an automatic sampling apparatus (1) for taking liquid samples of a sample liquid, in particular water or wastewater, present at a sampling station (12) of a body of water or of a container, for the qualitative or quantitative determination of at least one analyte, in particular of a biopolymer, contained in the sample liquid, the apparatus comprising: • a sample line (5) that can be fluidically connected to the sampling station (12); • a pump device (4); • at least one sample container (8) that can be fluidically connected to the sample line (5); and • an electronic control system (10) which is configured to fluidically connect the sample line (5) to the at least one sample container (8) such that a fluid flow path extending from the sampling station (12) through the sample line (5) into the sample container (8) is formed, and • wherein the electronic control system (10) is further configured to transport, by means of the pump device (4), a definable volume of the sample liquid, in the form of a liquid sample, along the fluid flow path into the sample container (8), • wherein the sampling apparatus (1) comprises means (14, 17) for concentrating and/or extracting the analyte present in the liquid sample.
