[origin: WO2021234666A1] According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device includes receiving a control plane preconfigured uplink resource (CP-PUR) configuration. The CP-PUR configuration includes time/frequency resources for PUR uplink occasions. The method further includes determining to transition to connected mode, transmitting a connection request to a network node using the PUR time/frequency resources, and transitioning to connected state.
