The domestic dishwasher (1) is distinguished in that the domestic dishwasher (1) has a control unit (5) which is designed to identify a manual movement of the door (10) performed by an operator in a specific direction of movement by detecting a characteristic variable of the drive device (4) and to move the door (10) further in said direction of movement by means of the drive device (4) as a result of the movement.
