Abstract (en)
An apparatus for making packages (3; 103; 203; 303) comprises:- a feed device (8) for feeding a web (9) of packaging material;- a gluing system (11) for applying a longitudinal pattern of glue along a longitudinal edge (22) of the web (9) and for applying a transversal pattern of glue in an internal region of the web (9), transversally to the longitudinal pattern;- an advancement device (4) for advancing a plurality of objects (2) in a advancement direction (F);- a longitudinal folding device (25) for bringing into contact opposite longitudinal edges (22) of the web (9) so as to form a tubular wrapper (27) around the objects (2);- a longitudinal pressing device (29) for obtaining a longitudinal joint (28) between the opposite longitudinal edges (22) of the web (9) by pressing the longitudinal edges (22) in contact with each other at the longitudinal pattern of glue;- a transversal cutting and pressing device (33) for pressing the tubular wrapper (27) transversally to the advancement direction (F) so as to obtain a transversal joint (39) at the transversal pattern of glue and close a package (3; 103; 203; 303).The gluing system (11) comprises a first applying device (12) for applying on the web (9) a first type of glue and a second applying device (13) for applying on the web (9) a second type of glue, so that the longitudinal pattern of glue and the transversal pattern of glue each comprise an arrangement of glue of the first type of glue positioned alongside an arrangement of glue of the second type.
