[origin: WO2021259407A1] The invention relates to a slicing machine (10.2) for foodstuffs in block form. The slicing machine has a housing with an insertion region for the foodstuff in block form and a removal region for the foodstuff in block form, once sliced, and a cutting blade for the foodstuff in block form. The machine is further provided with a shaft for receiving the foodstuff in block form, the longitudinal direction of which shaft corresponds to the direction of advance of the foodstuff in block form. The shaft has a first shaft region and a second shaft region which are at least partially separated from one another by a slot. The slicing machine has a longitudinally displaceably mounted flap which, in the OPEN position thereof, at least partially exposes the shaft and, in the CLOSED position thereof, covers the shaft. According to the invention, at least one coupling element (70.2) is provided, one end of which is fastened to the longitudinally displaceable flap and the other end of which is fastened to the shaft region of the removal region, so that the shaft region of the removal region is pivoted upwards about an axis of rotation (110) by at least one slice width when the flap is opened.
