[origin: WO2022008428A1] The present invention relates to a steering column (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising an adjustment unit (3), in which a steering spindle (32) is mounted rotatably about a longitudinal axis (L) extending in the longitudinal direction, a holding unit (2), in which the adjustment unit (3) is adjustably held; a fixing device (4) with a first tensioning device (5) and a second tensioning device (6) for releasably fixing the adjustment unit (3) relative to the holding unit (2), wherein the tensioning devices (5, 6) are operatively connected to a clamping lever (42) which can be brought either into a fixing position or into a release position. In order to increase the ease of operation of the fixing device and to reduce the required installation space, the invention proposes that the tensioning devices (5, 6) are arranged parallel in terms of action.
