[origin: CA3188933A1] The folding machine (2) comprises a blade folder (4) having a first and a second folding roller (10, 12), the folding roller axes (10a, 12a) of which define a folding roller plane (14), and having a folding blade (16) which is oriented and movable in a folding blade plane (18) that is oriented perpendicularly to the folding roller plane (14) and intersects the folding roller plane (14) at an intersection line (20). The folding blade (16) is in a retracted position in or below a horizontal plane (33) which includes the intersection line (20).
