[origin: WO2022029291A1] The present invention relates to an apparatus (1) for dispensing a volatile substance into the ambient air, having: a housing (10) made of a first material which has a vegetable fibre material, in particular a paper, a cardboard or a paperboard, and a barrier layer which serves as a barrier against permeation of the volatile substance; and having, arranged inside the housing (10), an insert (20) made of a second material, wherein the second material is provided, in particular impregnated, with the volatile substance, wherein the second material is one of the following materials or has one or more of the specified materials: - a vegetable fibre material or - sucrose or starch or - a mineral material.
