[origin: WO2022029320A2] The invention relates to pressing jaws (7, 8) intended to be arranged opposite one another in pressing pliers (1), wherein the pressing jaws (7, 8) have ribs (17) with a longitudinal extent (L) transverse to an introduction direction (r) of the pressing jaws (7, 8) into one another, and wherein introduction openings (20) have been left between the ribs (17), into which introduction openings (20) the ribs (17) of the respectively other pressing jaw (7, 8) can be introduced during a pressing operation, wherein, furthermore, a pressing mouth (23) formed by the pressing jaws (7, 8) has a pressing opening (24) with an opening contour (K) formed by free peripheral edges (18) of the ribs (17), and wherein, during a pressing operation, the ribs (17) being introduced form an intersection point (28) of the opening contour (K) that travels in the direction of the longitudinal extent (L). In order to further improve pressing jaws of the type in question, it is proposed that an additional pressing part (29) be provided, which additionally forms a part of the opening contour (K) and is arranged so as to extend overlapping several ribs (17), covering the intersection point (28).
