[origin: WO2023104548A1] The invention relates to a rifle with a breech catching device, having a housing (1) with a shaft (8) which is formed between a magazine shaft and a trigger device, wherein: the breech catching device comprises a foot (2), a slide (3) and a spring (4), the foot (2) has, on the magazine shaft side, a groove (11) on its leg (9) for receiving the spring (4) and, on its side facing the trigger device, a joint socket (13); the slide (3) has, on its lower portion, bearing pins (15) to be inserted and pivoted into the joint socket (13); the slide (3) has, at its upper end, a retaining tab (16) which projects toward the magazine shaft over the contours of the shaft (8); and the housing (1) has an abutment (12) which protrudes into the groove (11) in order to pretension the spring (4) of the breech catch in the idle position.
