The mounting system comprising: a wall panel mounting device (100), said wall panel mounting device comprising a slit fastening portion (101), adapted to be fastened to a slit (210), and at least one wall panel restraining portion (120), adapted to restrict movement of a wall panel in at least one direction parallel to said surface and said at least one wall panel restraining portion is elastic in at least said one direction parallel to said surface, a wall panel mounting rail (200) installed abutting a surface, said wall panel mounting rail comprising a slit (210) adapted to receive said slit fastening portion (101) of said wall panel mounting device.
