[origin: WO2022038184A1] In a folding blank for forming a carton ring (23) of a beverage carton (12), having a plurality of wall panels connected to one another by means of fold lines (16, 18, 20), of which wall panels a plurality of side wall panels (14a-c) are arranged next to each other in a longitudinal direction (15) of the folding blank (11) in each case via a lateral fold line, which side wall panels are each connected, in a vertical direction (17) of the folding blank (11) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (15), to an upper side wall panel (19a-c) on an upper side via an upper fold line (18), and to a base wall panel (21a-c) on an opposite lower side via a lower fold line (20), wherein, of the side wall panels (14a-c), a central side wall panel (14b) is flanked by two outer side wall panels (14a, c), wherein respective side wall partial sections (22a, b) rest against the outer side wall panels (14a, c), which side wall partial sections, when joined together to form the carton ring (23), come together to form a fourth side wall panel (14d), the upper and lower fold lines (18, 20) are of the same length and the lateral fold lines (16) have an edge length which corresponds to the edge length of the upper and lower fold lines (18, 20) or is an integer multiple of same.
