[origin: WO2022038181A1] The present invention provides a safety hopper (1) for realizing free drainage of wastewater, wherein the safety hopper (1) has a drainage cap (10) and a hopper element (20) with a hopper wall (21) which opens into a drainage nozzle (22). The drainage cap (10) is arranged flush on the hopper element (20) in a use arrangement of the safety hopper (1) and has a base plate (11) which is designed at least in part or completely as a screen (12) which, around an edge (12') delimiting the surface of the screen (12), has a guiding wall (13) which extends in the direction of the hopper element (20). The safety hopper (1) has in the hopper wall (21) one or more overflow windows (23) with an extent in the direction of the drainage cap (10) that reaches as far as a plane of the screen (12), and wherein a height (h) of the overflow windows (23) corresponds at least to a diameter (D) of the mouth of the drainage nozzle (22).
