[origin: WO2022049184A1] The invention relates to a sowing device (1) and to a method for working soil and depositing seeds for use with an agricultural vehicle (6). The sowing device has soil working tools (2) and a seed coulter (3). The soil working tools comprise a compacting tool (8) arranged in front of the seed coulter in the travel direction (7) for compacting soil (9) to be worked. A soil preparing tool (10) ahead of the compacting tool can be brought into engagement with the soil solely in a first soil working region (17). The soil preparing tool, the compacting tool, and the seed coulter form a tool assembly. Using the soil preparing tool, a ridge (16) can be produced with soil (25) from the first soil working region in a second soil working region (18) adjoining the first soil working region. The compacting tool can be brought into engagement with the ridge solely within the second soil working region. The seed coulter is arranged so as to be flush with the compacting tool in the travel direction so that seeds (21) can be deposited on the compacted ridge in the second soil working region by means of the seed coulter.
