[origin: WO2022058329A1] The present invention relates to a method for identifying a type of medical filter, a class of filters or a feature of a medical filter, wherein the filter has at least a first filter compartment and a second filter compartment, which are separated from each other by a filter medium. The method here comprises the step of generating a pressure in a fluid on a first side of the filter medium of a filter by means of a first pressure source, as a result of which the filter is subjected to pressure. The method further comprises the step of measuring over time the pressure curve on the first side of the filter medium, as first pressure curve (1000), by means of a first pressure sensor (59) arranged between the first pressure source and the filter, and also the pressure curve on the second side of the filter medium, as second pressure curve (2000), by means of a second pressure sensor (73). The method further comprises the step of evaluating both the first pressure curve (1000) and the second pressure curve (2000) so as to obtain an evaluation result (3000, 4000), and the step of assigning the medical filter, subjected to the pressure, to a type of filter or a class of filters or of identifying a feature of the medical filter.
